For your own security, we require all clients to have a 128 BIT encryption certificate within their Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator browser. HSBC InvestDirect strives to offer its clients an online trading system that is reliable, secure and capable of meeting their investment needs. From time to time, however, unscheduled outages may occur. These can happen for a variety of reasons including system problems and slowdowns at HSBC InvestDirect, your Internet Service Provider (e.g Bell Canada, Rogers ,etc.) or HSBC InvestDirect's third party providers of market data, research and back office functions.
The process of ensuring the reliability and accessibility of our systems does require regularly scheduled maintenance time. The scheduled maintenance window that has been established is Saturday mornings between 6am and 7am EST
Please be aware that HSBC InvestDirect's back office provider (ISM) has specific windows during which the entry of new orders as well as the changing or canceling of existing orders is unavailable. During these times, order entry will be unavailable online. These times are identified below:
