Our long-term, global presence has given us a unique ability to understand and appreciate diversity in all its forms. Creativity, innovation, teamwork and productivity flourish at HSBC in large part because we insist that every employee and customer be treated with fairness and respect. Valuing Diversity helps us to sustain and increase this unique advantage.
Program components:
The HSBC Valuing Diversity Council includes a cross-section of employees from varying functions, levels and geographic regions within the organization. This enables consultation with employee representatives from both Eastern and Western Canada. Council members are actively involved in developing, implementing and monitoring the company’s Valuing Diversity initiatives.
Our Executives are committed to Valuing Diversity. They provide leadership and support to diversity related initiatives and actively promote accountability, co-operation and buy-in from all employees at all levels.
We increase awareness, acceptance and successful implementation of diversity related initiatives by maximizing opportunities to present, align and demonstrate the links that these initiatives have with business priorities.
While we have a very diverse workforce, HSBC would like to increase its representation of Persons with Disabilities and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. Targeted outreach initiatives combined with support measures are being implemented to increase our representation of these groups.
If you consider yourself to be Aboriginal or a Person with a Disability and are looking for a career in Financial Services, we encourage you to Contact Us to find out more about employment opportunities with HSBC. See also:

To increase employee awareness and understanding of diversity, a series of diversity related modules are incorporated into our internal training programs. These help to:
