How to Request a Charitable Donation:

HSBC Bank Canada believes in investing in the future. That is why we contribute the majority of our charitable giving to educational and environmental organizations. 

If you are a registered Canadian charity and would like to request a donation from HSBC Bank Canada, please send your proposal to the following address:

In your proposal indicate the name and contact information of your organization, your Canadian charitable registration number, the names of any affiliated organizations, the groups you serve, your purpose, the specific program for which you are seeking funding and the geographic areas that you serve. Our Donations Committee will review your request and respond.

United Way of the Lower Mainland

HSBC Bank Canada has been supporting the United Way's fundraising efforts for over 20 years. Each year the United Way raises millions of dollars to tackle key social issues in Canada including school readiness for vulnerable children, food security, homelessness, and vulnerable seniors. The funds raised go to food banks, Boys and Girls Clubs, community centres, and neighbourhood houses who deal with these issues as well as to unique programs developed by the United Way. HSBC Clean Air Achievers

HSBC Bank Canada has donated $200,000 over 2 years to support the HSBC Clean Air Achievers program, an initiative of Clean Air Champions.  HSBC Clean Air Achievers engages students across Canada in exploring how their transportation choices affect air pollution and climate change, as well as in discovering the impacts on their personal health. The program features current and former Olympic and National Team athletes, who educate and motivate students.

Arts Umbrella

HSBC Bank Canada is a Founding Sponsor of Arts Umbrella and the Title Sponsor of the "HSBC Environmental Education Program" for elementary schools. Through the program Greater Vancouver schools are able to bring their students to Arts Umbrella's facility for free visual arts and theatre workshops with an environmental theme. Montreal Children's Hospital "Pedal for Kids"

"Pedal for Kids" is a public fundraising event for the Montreal Children's Hospital. Teams of 30 compete on a single multi-cycle (bicycle) on a course throughout downtown Montreal. Over the last 14 years, HSBC Bank Canada's team has raised more than $5 million dollars for the hospital. For more information, visit childrenfoundation.com.

University of British Columbia

HSBC Bank Canada’s gift of $2.17 million over seven years supported the UBC Learning Exchange’s programs in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, UBC Robson Square and with matching funds from the university established the HSBC Emerging Leader Scholarship and HSBC Undergraduate Awards. The City of Edmonton – North Saskatchewan River Clean Up

HSBC Bank Canada made a donation of $50,000 to support the North Saskatchewan River Clean Up project managed by the City of Edmonton’s Capital City Clean Up program.

The North Saskatchewan River Clean Up includes a public education campaign through the media, a public education program through schools and direct valley river clean up activities that involve community volunteers and HSBC employee volunteers. Evergreen

HSBC Bank Canada has donated $400,000 to Evergreen over 2 years in support of their Common Grounds Program, the HSBC-Evergreen Youth Action Series and the HSBC Student Bursary Program at Evergreen Brickworks. McGill University

HSBC Bank Canada has donated $300,000 to establish the permanently endowed HSBC Bank Canada Management Award Fund at McGill University. The fund provides one annual $5,000 award for a student in the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University who is majoring in Finance, and is based on academic achievement and financial need. Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto

HSBC Bank Canada has donated $100,000 over 3 years to the Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto which will help expand educational programming and cover equipment upgrades at the Kortright Centre, including new solar-powered bicycle generators. British Columbia Institute of Technology

HSBC Bank Canada has donated $50,000 to the British Columbia Institute of Technology's Rivers Institute in support of World Rivers Day. World Rivers Day takes place on the last Sunday in September each year and is celebrated in dozens of countries around the world. Events include river clean-ups and habitat restoration.
