For early arrivals, obtain early possession

In certain situations, your imported goods may arrive before the shipping documents have been processed through the banking system. In these circumstances, one option that may be available is to request HSBC to issue a shipping guarantee or airway bill release. If HSBC agrees to issue a shipping guarantee or airway bill release you will have to indemnify HSBC but this will allow you to take control of the goods from the shipping company without the original bill of lading documents.
