How to Use Your Chip HSBC MasterCard^® 

Your new chip HSBC MasterCard has an added layer of protection – it will now use a PIN to identify you as the rightful owner of the card. When you make a transaction with your new HSBC MasterCard you will be asked to enter your PIN in place of a signature.  

At a chip terminal, simply:

1. Insert your card into a chip terminal.
2. Leave your card inserted for the entire transaction.
3. Follow the instructions on screen to enter your PIN.
4. After successfully completing the transaction you will remove your card and take your receipt.

Cards will continue to be swiped at retailers without chip terminals. 

Important information about your HSBC MasterCard PIN

You will receive a reminder of your PIN for your chip HSBC MasterCard a few days prior to receiving your new card. You will be able to change your PIN if you wish at any HSBC Bank Canada ATM.
