When should I purchase my travel insurance?
Single Trip insurance can be purchased anytime before you leave for your trip.
Annual Multi Trip insurance can be purchased anytime in the 120 days (a little less than four months) before you leave for your first trip.
Visitors to Canada insurance can be purchased anytime before you leave for your trip or after your arrival to Canada. If you purchase this coverage after arriving in Canada then there will be no coverage for sickness or illness for a period of forty-eight (48) hours from your start date. Coverage for expenses incurred as a result of an accident is not subject to this limitation.
Most people purchase travel insurance right after they make their travel arrangements (flight, car rental, hotel reservations, etc) because then they’re sure of the dates they’ll be gone.
