Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs) are term investments that require you to "lock in" your investment for a set length of time. They generally pay higher rates of interest than term deposits but are often not redeemable before maturity.
The Canadian Dollar Dollar GIC provides regular interest income over a fixed term. A number of different non-compounding interest payment options are available such as monthly, semi-annually, annually and at maturity as well as varying term lengths. Compounding interest payment options also available.
