The Immigrant Investor Program was created in 1986 by the Canadian and Quebec government to attract successful business immigrants to Canada. At HSBC, we not only fully support these programs, we came up with options that work with them to make investment even more accessible for immigrants to Canada.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada ("CIC") has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Immigrant Investor Program. Only applications postmarked or received before June 26, 2010 will be processed. This pause will continue until certain regulatory amendments come into force later this year. The Immigrant Investor Program was created in 1986 by the Canadian government to attract successful business immigrants to Canada.
To participate, you must meet specific Immigration Selection Criteria, and be able to invest C$400,000 for 5 years under one of two available investment programs:
- the Federal Program, or
- the province of Quebec Program 1

Both programs are government guaranteed, assuring that your C$400,000 investment will be repaid in full, without interest, at the end of the 5-year period. If your application is successful, you and your immediate family will be granted Canadian Permanent Residence Visas.

HSBC offers an Immigrant Investor "All inclusive" package, which includes flexible investment financing, exclusive banking services, and we’ll also arrange for legal services by a reputable immigration lawyer, to:
- prepare, complete and submit your immigration application and supporting documents in compliance with government Regulations;
- provide an interview practice session;provide important information on living in Canada, and assistance when you arrive.
