Mobile cheque deposit

Enjoy the convenience of depositing your cheque on the go at anytime. With your HSBC Canada app, it's easy. Follow the simple directions below.

  1. Log onto the HSBC Canada app, select “Move Money” and click “Deposit cheque”   
  2. Select the account you wish to deposit the cheque to. You can do that under "Select Account"
  3. Enter the amount of the cheque.
  4. Take a photo of the front of the cheque and then the back of the cheque.
  5. Finally, click “Continue”, review your deposit details and then select "Deposit now"

Access with biometrics

Secure mobile banking is now at your fingertips. Conveniently log in to the HSBC Canada app through fingerprint authentication with iOS Touch/Face ID and Android™ Fingerprint ID.

  1. In your mobile device settings make sure you have your biometric settings enabled.
  2. Now open the HSBC Canada app and select “Profile”
  3. Select “Security” and toggle on your biometric ID
  4. Enter your Digital Security Device Password and select “OK”

It's easy to switch from the Physical security device to the Digital security device. Simply follow the directions below.

  1. Launch the HSBC Canada app, type in your user name and select continue. On the next screen you will be asked to enter you memorable answer. Then select "Use Secure Key“
  2. Follow on the onscreen instructions and enter the security code from you Security device. On the next screen, read the information and select "Activate now“
  3. You will now be asked where you would like your activation code to be Choose your preferred delivery method and select "Send code“
  4. Enter Activation code once received and select "Validate code" This will need to be done a second time via another delivery method
  5. Enter your chosen Digital Security Device password and select "Complete activation".  You are now able to log on using your new Digital Security Device password

Never had a Physical or Digital Security Device before?

Just follow these simple steps to activate your Digital Security Device in the HSBC Canada app.

  1. Launch the HSBC Canada app and log on using your username and current password
  2. Once you have logged on, select “Profile” then “Security” and select “Activate Digital Security Device”
  3. Choose a method to receive the validation code – either text, email or by phoning HSBC. Select Send Code”.
  4. Enter the validation code you received and select “Validate code” Once the validation code has been accepted, you will be prompted to receive and enter an activation code. .
  5. Create and confirm your new Digital Security Device Password. Select “Complete activation”

You can do secure INTERAC e-transfer® at any time. It's the quick, simple and convenient way to pay your share of dinner or transfer money to a loved one. You can also easily transfer funds between your accounts.
