Special Services

American Depositary Receipt (ADR) fee – banks that custody ADRs charge fees on a per share basis, which may vary by individual ADRs and are passed through to ADR investors.

Taxes such as GST/HST or Provincial Sales Tax may be applicable on certain charges.

1Charged quarterly (on or around the 15th of each month following the quarter) on your non-registered investment accounts with market balances less than $10,000.

2Commissionable trades are: Buys and sells of Equities, Options, Fixed Income – Bonds, Treasury Bills, Bankers’ Acceptances, Bearer Deposit Notes, Commercial Paper and Crown Corporation Money market Instruments. Buys and sells of GICs, Term Deposits, Canada Savings Bonds, Money Market Mutual Funds and Provincial Savings Bonds are not considered commissionable trades.

3Fee only applies when the combined balance of registered accounts is under $25,000 CDN as of May 31. This fee will be debited from registered accounts in June.

4Transactions subject to acceptance by HSBC InvestDirect.

5Other charges may apply, including but not limited to all applicable fees incurred from the transfer agent, lawyer, or issuing company for re-registration.

6The fee is debited from the account on or around January 15th of the following year.

8In addition to commission charges, a $15 handling fee will be applied to HSBC InvestDirect credit sell-outs of Under-Margined/Debit Balance Accounts.
