Internet and system reliability
HSBC InvestDirect strives to offer its clients an online trading system that is reliable, secure and capable of meeting their investment needs. From time to time, however, unscheduled outages may occur. These can happen for a variety of reasons including system problems and slowdowns at HSBC InvestDirect, your Internet Service Provider (e.g. Bell Canada, Rogers, etc.) or HSBC InvestDirect's third party providers of market data, research and back office functions.
The process of ensuring the reliability and accessibility of our systems does require regularly scheduled maintenance time. The scheduled maintenance window that has been established is Saturday mornings between 6am and 7am EST.
However, there may be some instances whereby maintenance may fall outside the scheduled maintenance window.
