Pay bills

  1. From the home page select the account you're moving money from and select Pay or transfer on the account summary panel.
  2. To choose a merchant that you want to pay from your payee list, select the My payees tab and type the first letter in the My payees input box. The system will then display all merchants that have names starting with that letter which you can now select from.
  3. After selecting the merchant that you want to pay, proceed to enter the other payment details such as: amount, payment reference (free format text entry) and date of payment (i.e. Now, Later or select Recurring to set up regular payments).
  4. Once you have entered all payment details, press continue and you'll be shown all of the payment details to Verify.
  5. Once you have verified the payment details, a confirmation page will be displayed to show your bill payment transaction details.
  6. Alternatively, you can select the New payee tab to move money to a new individual or merchant.
  7. Select New payee and choose Company.  Start typing the name of the merchant in the Find a company input box. The system will then display all merchants that match your input which you can now select from.
  8. After selecting the merchant that you want to pay, proceed to enter the other payment details such as: amount, payment reference (free format text entry) and date of payment (i.e. Now, Later or select Recurring to set up regular payments).
  9. Once you have entered all payment details, press continue and you'll be shown all of the payment details to Verify.
  10. Once you have verified the payment details, a confirmation page will be displayed to show your bill payment transaction details.

Quick Move Money

  1. Quick Move Money is the fastest way to move money between your accounts in the same currency and this is available on the Account dashboard page.
  2. On the Quick Move Money panel select the two accounts you would like to move money between.
  3. Enter the amount and select Transfer.
  4. A confirmation and reference number will show, confirming the transfer has been made.

Sending an INTERAC e-Transfer®

  1. From the home page select the account you're moving money from and select INTERAC e-Transfer 
    on the account summary panel.
  2. Select the account you’d like to send the INTERAC e-Transfer from.
  3. Choose a Contact that you want to transfer to.  
  4. If you have not created an INTERAC contact, select the Contacts tab, and choose Add contact at the bottom of the screen.  Input the contact details such as name, email address, security question and answer.

  5. Once you have selected an existing INTERAC contact or created a new INTERAC contact, proceed to enter the payment details such as amount and message to payee and submit.
  6. Once you have entered all INTERAC e-Transfer details, press continue and you'll be shown all of the payment details to Verify.
  7. Once you have verified the payment details, a confirmation page will be displayed to show your transaction details.

Receiving an INTERAC e-Transfer

  1. When someone sends you an INTERAC e-Transfer, you will receive notification via email and/or text message depending on what option the sender chose. The notification contains the following information:
    a. Sender's name
    b. Transfer amount
    c. A link to deposit the transfer to your account.
  2. To access the funds being sent to you, you must select the link provided in the notification you received and choose HSBC Bank Canada.
  3. Once logged on to HSBC Online Banking, select the account you would like to deposit the funds into, enter the security answer and press Accept transfer.
  4. After selecting to accept, the details of the INTERAC e-Transfer you are receiving will be displayed for your verification.
  5. Once you have verified the INTERAC e-Transfer receipt details, a page will be displayed to confirm the funds has been deposited to your selected account.
